Gatwick Airport closed its runway for 50 minutes on 4 September following a technical issue involving a departing aircraft.
The aircraft was towed away before the runway underwent a safety inspection.

Passengers were advised to continue travelling to the airport as normal, while checking with their airline for any knock-on disruption to individual flights.
