Budget carrier easyJet has today, 30th March 2026, officially announced further growth at Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA) with the launch of a new summer route to Seville, Spain.
The new service to the Andalusian capital is scheduled to begin on 2nd August 2026, operating twice weekly on Thursdays and Sundays. This addition is part of a broader expansion strategy that sees easyJet’s total destination count from Liverpool rise to 41, covering 18 different countries.

Boosting Choice for North West Travellers
The introduction of Seville follows a string of recent route announcements for the 2026 season. By the time the Seville service takes flight in August, passengers from the North West will have access to an “unrivalled” range of short-haul options from their local airport.
Key highlights of the 2026 expansion include:
- Total Destinations: 41 routes now available with easyJet from Liverpool.
- New Additions: Alongside Seville, other new 2026 routes include Lisbon, Naples, Paphos, and Tirana.
- Increased Capacity: To support this growth, easyJet is adding another aircraft to its Liverpool base later this year, bringing its total local fleet to nine.
Why Seville?
Known for its stunning Moorish architecture, vibrant tapas scene, and rich cultural heritage, Seville is expected to be a major draw for both city-break enthusiasts and those looking for a longer summer escape. The twice-weekly schedule is specifically designed to offer flexibility for varying trip lengths.
Paul Winfield, Aviation Director at LJLA, noted that the new route demonstrates the “strength of the Liverpool market,” while easyJet’s UK Country Manager, Kevin Doyle, highlighted the airline’s commitment to providing “even more choice and connectivity at fantastic fares.”
The “Faster, Easier, Friendlier” Experience
For many travellers in the North West, the expansion at Liverpool is a welcome alternative to larger, more congested hubs. As easyJet continues to invest in its Speke-based operations, the airport’s “Faster, Easier, Friendlier” motto remains a key part of the appeal for those heading to the sun in 2026.
