Manchester Airport has today, 30th March 2026, revealed the first look at its latest premium offering: The Executive by Escape Lounges. Set to open its doors in July 2026, the new space is being pitched as a more “elevated” alternative for passengers looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the main departure hall.
The launch is part of the final stages of the airport’s decade-long £1.3 billion transformation of Terminal 2. As the project nears completion, the airport is focusing on diversifying its lounge options to cater to different traveller expectations.
Two Tiers of Luxury
Unlike standard lounges that often offer a single all-inclusive price, The Executive will provide two distinct dining experiences:
- The Buffet Experience: Starting from £57.99, this option allows guests to enjoy an expansive self-service area with several distinct food zones and premium drinks.
- Seated Dining: Known as “The Boll,” this more refined start to a journey features a full table-service menu. Prices start from £82.99, providing a high-end restaurant experience before boarding.

Is the Price Tag Worth It?
The introduction of these higher price points has already sparked conversation among frequent flyers. While the standard Escape Lounges remain available at a more accessible rate, the Executive is clearly targeting a “premium-plus” market.
For passengers, it raises the classic travel question: Is the extra cost worth the comfort? On one hand, the “seated dining” model mimics a high-end restaurant experience, potentially removing the “scrum” often seen at busy buffets. On the other hand, at over £80 per person, some travellers may feel that the cost of the lounge is becoming a significant portion of the total holiday budget.
A Modern Terminal for a Modern Traveller
The Executive will be located in the heart of the newly refurbished Terminal 2, which recently saw the opening of a “Boutique Mall” featuring luxury brands like Chanel and Jo Malone. The lounge itself promises opulent settings and floor-to-ceiling views of the runway, aiming to provide a world-class gateway for the North.
As Manchester Airport continues its transition, the expanded Terminal 2 has become the primary hub for the majority of the airport’s 30 million annual travellers.
