Norwich Airport has confirmed it will close to all air traffic for an entire day on Friday 28 August due to planned industrial action by air traffic control staff.
Prospect union members working in Air Traffic Control are set to hold a 24-hour strike, meaning no flights will be able to operate to or from Norwich Airport throughout Friday.
The airport has confirmed that airlines have been informed of the closure and is advising passengers due to travel on 28 August to check with their airline for the latest information about their flight and the options available to them.
The latest action follows disruption at the airport on Friday 21 August, when air traffic movements were suspended between 8am and 1pm as part of ongoing industrial action. KLM and Loganair services were among flights cancelled during that earlier disruption.
Norwich Airport said negotiations with Prospect are continuing and that it remains committed to resolving the dispute through constructive dialogue.
Passengers with airport transfers, accommodation or onward travel booked for Friday should also check their arrangements once their airline confirms what will happen to their flight.
Travellers who need alternative transport to or from airports elsewhere in the country can also find pre-booked UK airport transfers through DM Airport Transfers.
Passengers due to use Norwich Airport on Friday 28 August should continue checking directly with their airline before beginning their journey.
