Manchester Airport Renames Terminal Entrance and Introduces New Parking Numbering System

Manchester Airport has announced a series of changes affecting terminal signage and car park naming across the airport site, aimed at making the passenger journey clearer.

In a recent customer information postManchester Airport confirmed that Ryanair passengers have been using a slightly different check-in process since October. According to the airport, travellers flying with the airline have been checking in at Terminal 1 – Departures A, using the new security lanes, before entering the Terminal 3 departure lounge.

From 00:01 on 5 March 2026, the airport will officially rename this entrance to “Terminal 3 Departures” to better reflect the journey passengers take through the airport. The change is primarily designed to reduce confusion for travellers who check in at one terminal area but depart from another.

Despite the renaming of the departure entrance, arrivals will remain unchanged. Manchester Airport confirmed that all Ryanair flights arriving at the airport will continue to arrive at Terminal 3 Arrivals, meaning passengers being collected will still use the same location.

Manchester Airport Introduces New Parking Number System

Alongside the terminal change, Manchester Airport is also updating the way its parking locations are labelled.

The airport stated in the same announcement that all car park products across the site will be renamed using a simple numbered system, ranging from P1 to P16. The aim is to make it easier for customers to identify their parking location and navigate the airport.

Some examples from the new system include:

  • T2 Meet & Greet → P1
  • T2 Overheight → P2
  • T2 West Multi Storey → P3
  • T2 Park & Walk → P4
  • Drop & Go Express → P10
  • Mid Stay Multi Storey → P12
  • T3 Meet & Greet → P13
  • T3 Multi Storey → P14
  • T3 Mid Stay → P15
  • Drop & Go → P16

Manchester Airport says the new numbering system will help passengers quickly identify their designated parking area when booking or arriving at the airport.

The changes officially come into effect from 5 March 2026.

DM News Commentary

Changes like this might seem small, but they can have a noticeable impact on drivers working at busy airports such as Manchester.

Private hire drivers, taxis, and airport transfer companies rely heavily on clear signage and consistent pickup locations. When terminals or parking areas are renamed, it can temporarily create confusion for passengers who may still be following old instructions or booking confirmations.

For drivers regularly operating at Manchester Airport, it will be important to double-check pickup instructions and car park locations during the transition period while passengers get used to the new naming system.
