A taxi dramatically crashed into the corner of a supermarket in Old Trafford on Wednesday morning, prompting an emergency response from fire and police services.
The incident occurred shortly before 11am (June 25) at the junction of Seymour Grove and Tennis Street, outside the Worldwide Foods Store. Witnesses described a loud bang as the vehicle collided with the building, sending bricks tumbling to the ground and leaving the front of the taxi visibly damaged.
Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service rushed to the scene, cordoning off the area to ensure public safety while the structure was assessed. Greater Manchester Police were also in attendance.
The taxi driver was assessed by emergency crews but fortunately did not suffer serious injuries. The vehicle was later removed from the scene by recovery services.
No arrests were made, and the area was cleared shortly after the incident.
