Manchester’s largest fleet of black cabs has a new name and a broader future. On Thursday 5 June, Mantax officially rebranded as ComCab Manchester, marking a new era for the city’s premium hackney carriage service as it integrates into the wider ComCab national network.

The rebrand sees Manchester’s most established taxi operator continuing to deliver the same high standard of service, now under a name familiar to passengers across the UK. Drivers – renowned for their expert local knowledge – will maintain their trusted, reliable presence on the city’s streets, while benefitting from advanced booking technology and stronger national links.
Customers can now take advantage of modernised booking options, including app and web-based reservations, with the added benefit of real-time tracking. Whether planning a future journey or hailing a ride on the go, passengers will be able to monitor taxi locations and availability with ease.
Taxis in Manchester will soon display the bold and recognisable ComCab branding, helping to reassure passengers that they’re getting into a licensed, safe, and authorised vehicle.
This move is part of a wider investment in Manchester’s transport infrastructure, aimed at improving vehicle availability, cutting waiting times, and creating better intercity connections – particularly between Manchester and Liverpool, where ComCab Liverpool already operates.
Karen Long, Northwest Regional General Manager, described the rebrand as a pivotal moment:
“This rebrand and integration into the wider ComCab network marks a significant milestone in our commitment to delivering a safe, seamless, and trusted service both locally and nationally.
Benefitting from enhanced booking options, real-time tracking, and increased connectivity between Manchester and Liverpool, this change reflects our vision for a modern, integrated transport solution that meets the evolving needs of the communities we serve.”
ComCab Manchester is now part of CityFleet Networks Limited, one of the UK’s largest land transport providers and a subsidiary of ComfortDelGro, a global transport company headquartered in Singapore.
