Tesla has set 1 October as the date for a new Roadster unveiling, but the announcement does not establish when production will begin or when customers could receive the car.
The manufacturer posted a Roadster teaser on Saturday 12 September 2026 carrying the date “10.01”. Elon Musk subsequently described the planned event as a new Tesla Roadster unveiling on Thursday 1 October.
The date therefore relates to an unveil, not a confirmed production start or customer-delivery timetable. Tesla has not published UK pricing, a delivery schedule or final homologated specifications alongside the announcement.
Tesla first revealed the second-generation Roadster in November 2017. The original programme indicated that deliveries would start in 2020, but the model has since undergone repeated delays. The latest announcement does not provide a replacement delivery date.
Tesla’s official Roadster page continues to list claimed targets of 1.9 seconds for 0-60mph, a top speed above 250mph and a 1,000-mile range. It describes the vehicle as a four-seat, all-wheel-drive electric sports car.
