Manchester Airport has relocated its Terminal 2 Over Height car park to a new site, according to a notice sent out to drivers and confirmed by Driver Matty.
The car park, used by taxi and private hire drivers running minibuses, MPVs, and other vehicles too tall for the standard multi-storey facilities, was previously based on Palma Avenue. It has now moved to a new location on Melbourne Avenue, at the rear of the T2 West Multi-Storey Car Park (P3), and has been assigned the reference P5 under the airport’s newer numbered car park system.

For drivers unfamiliar with the area, Melbourne Avenue is the same road that leads to the T2 West Multi-Storey, so the move puts the Over Height facility much closer to the main pick-up zone than its old Palma Avenue site. That should mean less doubling back for drivers who’ve been caught out by the height restriction on the lower forecourt and redirected here.
It’s a change worth knowing before your next airport run rather than after — turning up expecting the old Palma Avenue location and finding it gone is the kind of thing that eats into a job, especially with a tight pick-up window on the clock. Given how much has shifted around T2 over the past year, from the new lower forecourt height limit to the P1–P16 renumbering, it’s another reminder to keep an eye on airport notices rather than relying on habit.
Manchester Airport has not yet published anything on its official site reflecting the move at the time of writing, so this update comes from a driver notice and Driver Matty’s own video from the new site.
