Nearly 660 employers have been named by the Government after more than £4 million was repaid to over 27,000 workers who were not paid the legal minimum wage.
Employers included on the published list include B&Q, Forest Holidays, Five Guys and Serco. Penalties issued across the enforcement action totalled £7 million.
The naming round, published on 3 September, is the first since the Fair Work Agency was established in April. The agency is responsible for enforcing workers’ rights, including minimum-wage protections.
The figures highlight the financial consequences for businesses found to have failed to pay the required rate. The Government said more than £100 million in penalties has been issued to over 5,200 employers since 2011.
