Two former Derbyshire Constabulary call handlers have been jailed after accessing or passing confidential police information linked to criminal associates.
Ellie-Mae Doherty and Jessica Fitzhugh, both aged 22, were sentenced at Leicester Crown Court after the case was investigated under the direction of the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC).
Doherty was jailed for 11 months after admitting misconduct in public office. She had passed police information to a man linked to crime.
Fitzhugh received a four-month custodial sentence after pleading guilty to computer misuse. She had accessed information held on police systems without authority.
