Adeel Khan has been jailed for four years and six months after arranging £400 in cash for Daniel Khalife while he was on the run following his prison escape.
Khan, 32, of Waltham Forest, was sentenced at Snaresbrook Crown Court on 4 September. The prison term was imposed for assisting an offender, following his earlier conviction.
Investigators established that Khan arranged the money while Khalife was evading capture. The case concerned assistance given after the escape, rather than helping Khalife carry out the escape itself.
The sentencing marks a new stage in the proceedings against Khan. It is separate from both the original prison escape and the earlier court finding that Khan was guilty of assisting an offender.

Khan had also pleaded guilty to possessing a mobile phone in prison. The four-year-and-six-month sentence reported for assisting an offender should be distinguished from that separate guilty plea.
Co-defendant Imran Chowdhury was found not guilty of assisting an offender. His acquittal remains distinct from Khan’s conviction and the sentence imposed on 4 September.
