Sinotruk to Enter UK and Irish Heavy-Truck Market Through New Harris Group Deal

Harris Group has agreed exclusive rights to import and distribute Sinotruk heavy trucks in the UK and Ireland, with the new operation set to trade as Harris Sinotruk.

Customer deliveries are scheduled to begin in March 2027. The initial range will include Euro VI and fully electric 7.5-tonne Sitrak trucks, giving the Chinese manufacturer an electric-capable entry into the UK and Irish heavy-truck market.

Harris Group said the range will be expanded in phases. Planned additions include 4×2 distribution models, an 8×4 rigid and a 4×2 tractor unit. The company is building a nationwide dealer and aftersales network ahead of the first deliveries.

The arrangement covers the full Sinotruk range rather than a single vehicle class. It is intended to establish a dedicated distribution and support operation for the manufacturer’s trucks in both markets.

As part of the portfolio change, Harris Group will withdraw the Maxus eDeliver 75 from the UK market to avoid overlap with the new truck range. The move separates the existing electric van offering from the heavier Sitrak products planned for launch.

Sinotruk sold approximately 305,000 heavy trucks in 2025 and exported more than 150,000 vehicles, according to announcement coverage. The company’s UK and Ireland entry will therefore be backed by an established international sales operation, while Harris Group works to put the local dealer and aftersales infrastructure in place.

The first customer vehicles are not due until March 2027, so the announcement represents a forthcoming market entry rather than the launch of an operating truck service. Further models are expected to follow the initial 7.5-tonne Euro VI and electric Sitrak vehicles under the phased rollout.
