LTDA Urges Heathrow to Open Taxi Feeder Park to More Drivers on Waiting List

The Licensed Taxi Drivers’ Association is pressing Heathrow Airport to allow more taxi drivers currently on its waiting list to access the airport’s official Taxi Feeder Park system.

The call comes as Heathrow continues its transition to the new Taxi Feeder Management System, known as TFMS, which replaces the long-running Taxi Expert setup used by licensed London taxi drivers working the airport.

According to TaxiPoint, LTDA airport representative Chris Goddard said the association intends to continue pushing Heathrow to grant feeder-park access to additional drivers from the existing waiting list.

No current figure has been confirmed for the number of drivers waiting for access, and Heathrow has not announced that it will release additional places.

That distinction is important: the LTDA is campaigning for greater access, but there is currently no confirmed expansion of feeder-park capacity.

Heathrow’s own documentation confirms that its Taxi Feeder Park service now uses the Nymble platform. The system processes taxi driver and vehicle information and uses Automatic Number Plate Recognition and GPS location data as part of feeder-park operations.

Drivers using the service can be identified through details including their taxi bill number, badge number, TfL licence information and vehicle registration.

The feeder park remains a key part of how licensed taxis obtain work from Heathrow’s terminal ranks. Drivers without authorised access cannot simply join the official airport taxi queue.

Heathrow also currently charges £2.20 including VAT for entry to the Taxi Feeder Park. The tariff applies from 1 April 2026 until 31 March 2027.

The LTDA’s latest intervention therefore raises an important question for London cab drivers who are still waiting for access: whether the introduction of the newer management system could eventually allow Heathrow to reconsider how many drivers are admitted.

For now, however, drivers on the waiting list should not assume that access rules have changed. There has been no confirmed announcement from Heathrow granting additional places.
