Police are appealing for witnesses after a taxi driver was assaulted by two people at a rank beside Carlisle Railway Station.
The incident happened at around 11.30pm on Sunday, 16 August, at the taxi rank on Court Square Brow in Carlisle.
Cumbria Police are now asking anyone who witnessed the assault or may have relevant dashcam footage to come forward as officers investigate what happened.
The force has issued incident reference 277 of 16 August for information connected with the case.
Details released through the appeal remain limited. Police have confirmed that a taxi driver was assaulted by two people but have not provided further information about the driver’s injuries or announced any arrests in connection with the incident.
The location is one of Carlisle’s important taxi pick-up points, immediately beside the city’s railway station and close to the city centre.
The appeal also highlights the potential importance of dashcams around busy taxi ranks. Footage captured by taxi drivers, other motorists or vehicles passing Court Square Brow at around the time of the incident could potentially assist officers with their enquiries.
