A group of schoolchildren were left “traumatised” after a brick was hurled at their taxi, shattering a rear window and showering passengers with glass during a school run in Kent.
The incident took place on Monday, 8 September, near the Stile Bridge pub in Marden, as the private hire vehicle was transporting students home from school.

Students Covered in Glass
Among the passengers was 13-year-old Max, whose mother, Marissa McGowan, had to collect him from the scene.
She described the frightening aftermath:
“He had bits of glass all over him. He was sat in the seat next to the window that shattered. He’s a bit traumatised and confused by it all.”
Parents said the brick narrowly avoided hitting the children directly, instead striking the vehicle’s side before the glass collapsed inwards.
Police Response
The taxi driver and parents reported the attack via the non-emergency 101 line. However, Kent Police have since confirmed that no formal record of the incident currently appears on their system.
Officers are expected to make further enquiries once an official report is lodged.
Community Concerns
The attack has sparked concern among parents and local residents, with many questioning whether children’s safety is being put at risk on routine journeys.
While no serious injuries were reported, parents say the emotional impact has been significant, particularly for the children who witnessed the sudden violence.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
