AION has confirmed UK pricing for its new UT electric hatchback, with the model starting at £28,950 and orders due to open in September 2026.
The Chinese manufacturer says the AION UT will be offered in a single main specification with a 60kWh battery and a claimed WLTP driving range of up to 268 miles. It can accelerate from 0-62mph in 7.3 seconds and offers 440 litres of boot space.
The car made its public UK debut at the British Motor Show in Farnborough over the weekend of 21 to 23 August. Standard equipment includes a 14.6-inch central display, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel and a 360-degree camera system.
AION is also using its aftersales package as a major selling point. Its ‘Great 8 Promise’ includes an eight-year vehicle warranty, eight years of scheduled servicing, eight years of roadside assistance and MOT support until the vehicle reaches eight years old, subject to the manufacturer’s terms.
A £1,200 Premium Pack adds equipment including a panoramic roof, powered tailgate, ventilated driver’s seat and wireless phone charging. The combination of price, range and long servicing package could make the UT worth watching for high-mileage professional drivers comparing electric cars.
However, taxi and private hire drivers should not assume the model is automatically eligible for licensing or for a particular ride-hailing category. Vehicle approval rules vary by council and platform, so eligibility should be checked before any purchase or lease commitment.
