Welsh schoolboy sentenced after stabbing teacher with knife at school

A boy has been sentenced to four-and-a-half years in youth detention after being convicted of wounding a teacher with intent at Milford Haven Comprehensive School.

The defendant, who was 15 at the time of the attack and cannot be named for legal reasons, was sentenced at Swansea Crown Court on 3 September after his conviction in July.

The attack happened on 5 February 2026. The boy followed history teacher Vicki Williams into a classroom after asking for help with schoolwork.

He was convicted of wounding with intent and had admitted possessing a knife. Ms Williams suffered injuries requiring hospital treatment and later recovered physically.

The sentencing judge expressed concern about the possibility of copycat attacks and raised the issue of teacher safety.

The case involves Milford Haven Comprehensive School, in Pembrokeshire, and was investigated by Dyfed-Powys Police.

The sentence marks the latest stage in the case following the July conviction. The defendant remains protected from identification because of his age at the time of the offence.
