Virgin Atlantic has become the Official Airline Partner for Team GB and ParalympicsGB for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Virgin Atlantic Holidays has separately been named the Official Holiday Partner of the two British teams.
The partnership was announced at London Heathrow on 4 September 2026, with Virgin Atlantic founder Sir Richard Branson appearing alongside Olympic gymnast Jake Jarman and Paralympian Kadeena Cox.
Virgin Atlantic says the agreement is its first partnership with Team GB and ParalympicsGB. The carrier also says the previous airline partner had held the title since 2008.
As part of the arrangement, Virgin Atlantic will provide travel support for athletes and team personnel travelling to Los Angeles. The package is set to include tailored airport and check-in assistance, extra baggage allowance, and specialist arrangements for sporting and accessibility equipment.
The airline operates three daily direct services between London Heathrow and Los Angeles, which it says will carry the teams for the Games.

Virgin Atlantic and ParalympicsGB intend to develop an accessible-travel programme with input from athletes, disability-inclusion specialists and people with lived experience. The initiative is intended to inform how travel support is designed around accessibility needs.
Before the Games, Virgin Atlantic says it will work with the teams on customer and colleague events, as well as activity linked to team announcements and flagbearer-related events. The airline also plans special welcome-home activity at Heathrow for athletes returning after the Games.
Virgin Atlantic Holidays plans to offer curated Los Angeles 2028 itineraries for supporters, with the packages due to go on sale in 2027. The fact pack does not provide further details of those itineraries.
The partnership is also being linked to a new post-flight recovery offer at Virgin Atlantic’s Heathrow Revivals Lounge, scheduled to launch in November 2026. In early 2027, Virgin Atlantic and Virgin StartUp plan to run an innovation challenge focused on areas including accessibility, wellness and performance in the customer journey.
ParalympicsGB describes Virgin Atlantic as both its Official Airline Partner and a Gold Partner. The LA28 Paralympic Games are scheduled to take place from 15 to 27 August 2028.
