Three Stabbed and Fourth Person Beaten Unconscious in Kettering Town Centre Violence

Four people have been taken to hospital after three people were stabbed and another person was found beaten unconscious during serious violence in Kettering town centre.

Northamptonshire Police said officers and paramedics were called to Gold Street shortly after 8.35pm on Sunday, 30 August following reports that a 30-year-old woman had been stabbed outside The Peacock pub.

When officers arrived minutes later, they discovered two men who had also suffered stab wounds.

A third man was found lying unconscious in the road opposite the entrance to the nearby Newlands shopping centre.

All four injured people were taken to Kettering General Hospital for treatment.

Police confirmed that one of those taken to hospital underwent surgery overnight.

Four men have subsequently been arrested as detectives investigate what happened.

A 24-year-old man from Kettering was arrested on suspicion of three counts of grievous bodily harm.

Two other Kettering men, aged 43 and 40, and a 31-year-old man from Barton Seagrave were arrested on suspicion of affray.

No charges have been announced in connection with the incident at the time of publication.

Northamptonshire Police described the investigation as fast-moving and said officers were not ruling out further arrests.

The violence happened on a busy Bank Holiday weekend in Kettering town centre, prompting police to appeal directly to members of the public who may have witnessed what happened.

Detective Inspector Wayne Preece said tackling knife crime remained a key priority for Northamptonshire Police.

Investigators are particularly interested in obtaining recordings that may have captured the incident or events immediately surrounding it.

Police have asked anyone with mobile-phone footage, CCTV or dashcam recordings from the area to contact the force.

Anyone who witnessed the violence or has information that could assist detectives is also being urged to come forward.

The investigation remains ongoing and the arrests do not establish criminal responsibility. The men arrested are suspects and no court has determined guilt in relation to the incident.
