Three men have been injured in an assault involving an unknown substance near Ladbroke Grove Underground station in west London, just days before the Notting Hill Carnival.
Police were called by the London Ambulance Service at approximately 10.47pm on Thursday, 27 August following reports of an assault in the Ladbroke Grove area of Notting Hill.
The incident involved an unidentified substance, prompting a significant emergency-services response.
Two men in their 20s were taken to hospital following the incident.
The Metropolitan Police has confirmed that their injuries are not considered life-threatening.
A third man, also in his 20s, suffered an injury to his hand and was treated by emergency crews at the scene without requiring further hospital treatment.
The London Ambulance Service deployed ambulance crews, a paramedic in a fast-response car, an incident-response officer and specialist paramedics from its Hazardous Area Response Team.
London Fire Brigade crews also attended alongside officers from the Metropolitan Police and British Transport Police.
Firefighters described their response as being to a chemical incident on Ladbroke Grove.

The exact substance involved has not yet been publicly identified.
Although some reports have described the incident as a possible acid attack, police have so far referred to an assault involving an unknown substance.

Police enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident are continuing.
No arrests had been reported by Friday lunchtime.
The Metropolitan Police said its enquiries indicate the incident was isolated and there is no wider threat to members of the public.
The timing and location are likely to attract additional attention because the incident happened shortly before the Notting Hill Carnival, which takes place over the Bank Holiday weekend.
Ladbroke Grove is one of the principal areas associated with the carnival and forms part of the event’s wider west London footprint.
However, police have not said that Thursday night’s assault was connected with the carnival, and the two events should not be linked without further evidence.
The Metropolitan Police has already launched a major policing operation ahead of this year’s carnival, including measures intended to prevent people believed to pose a risk of violence from attending.
