Detective Sergeant Prakash Patel is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on 4 September after being charged with five counts of sexual assault involving four women known to him.
Patel is attached to the Metropolitan Police’s North West Command Unit. The force publicly confirmed the charges and the scheduled court appearance on 3 September.
The allegations concern four incidents said to have taken place on 3 December 2024 and one further alleged incident dating from summer 2024. Patel was charged on 24 July 2026.
