A man in his 30s has died following a collision involving an e-bike in Leicester, Leicestershire Police have confirmed.
Officers were called to Preston Rise, close to the junction with Cranesbill Road in Hamilton, just before 12:15pm on Monday 27 July, following a report of a crash involving an e-bike and two other vehicles. The rider of the e-bike was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported and no arrests have been made. The road was closed for several hours and reopened at around 6:20pm.
The force’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit is now appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision, or who has relevant dashcam footage, to come forward and assist with their enquiries.
E-bikes have become an increasingly common sight on UK roads in recent years, and incidents involving them are something professional drivers are likely to encounter more often, particularly at junctions and roundabouts where visibility and speed differences can catch drivers off guard.
