DVSA Says Driving-Test Appointments Available Until 21 February 2027

The Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency has updated its guidance to show that practical driving-test appointments were available until 21 February 2027 as of 7 September 2026.

The agency releases a new week of test appointments at 6am every Monday, with bookings made available 24 weeks in advance. The next release, on 14 September, will cover appointments for the week beginning 22 February 2027.

DVSA said its online booking service is available daily from 6am until 11:40pm. Candidates looking for an earlier test may find appointments become available during the week when another learner cancels or changes a booking, or when additional examiner availability is added.

Taxi and private hire operators can find booking and dispatch tools from DM Taxi Assistant.

However, the agency said there is no particular best time to search for an earlier appointment. It has also warned candidates not to repeatedly search in a short period or use more than one device at the same time, as this can result in a temporary block from the service.

The latest waiting-time measure shows that half of learners who took a driving test in July 2026 had waited no more than 11.1 weeks. The figure is updated each month and is based on people who took tests in the previous calendar month.

DVSA said the median figure is not a guaranteed waiting time at every test centre. Cancellations and added examiner availability may create earlier booking opportunities during the week.
