Double-Decker Bus Smashes Into Norfolk House - But Remarkably Nobody Is Injured

A double-decker bus has crashed into a house in a Norfolk village, demolishing a large section of the property but remarkably leaving nobody injured.

Emergency services were called to West Road in Ormesby St Margaret, near Great Yarmouth, at around 10.12am on Thursday, 27 August.

Pictures from the scene show the bus embedded in the building, with a substantial section of the exterior wall destroyed and bricks and other debris scattered across the road.

Part of the roof was also damaged in the collision.

Norfolk Police confirmed that there were no reported injuries following the crash.

ITV News Anglia reported that around seven or eight people were believed to have been travelling on the bus when it struck the property.

Fire crews from Great Yarmouth, Gorleston, Carrow and Dereham attended the incident alongside an Urban Search and Rescue team.

Emergency services worked to make the damaged building and surrounding area safe while the road remained closed.

A nearby resident, Kevin Griffin, witnessed the aftermath of the collision and described hearing an extremely loud impact before running towards the bus to help passengers get off.

The vehicle involved was operated by First Bus.

A spokesperson for the company confirmed that one of its buses had been involved in a collision with a building in Ormesby St Margaret.

First Bus said there were no reports of injuries among passengers, staff or members of the public and that it was working with the emergency services following the incident.

The extent of the structural damage to the house is substantial, with photographs showing a large section of the building opened up by the impact.

Despite the dramatic appearance of the scene, authorities have so far reported no casualties.
