DPD has ordered 341 Mercedes-Benz eSprinter electric vans as part of its fleet-electrification programme. The vehicles are scheduled to begin entering service during September 2026, with all 341 planned to be operational by the end of October.
The rollout is intended to add electric delivery capacity ahead of the Christmas parcel peak. The vans are being supplied through Mercedes-Benz dealer eStar, which will also support them through Mercedes-Benz ServiceCare Complete and the dealer network.
The order is planned to take DPD’s electric fleet to more than 4,000 vehicles. DPD operates more than 10,000 vehicles from 85 UK sites, according to the reported fleet figures, while electric vans account for more than 38% of its final-mile fleet.
The scale of the order makes the support programme an important part of the deployment. ServiceCare Complete is described as combining maintenance provision with connected-vehicle alerts. Those alerts are intended to help identify issues early enough for intervention to be planned before faults cause avoidable downtime.
