Rail passengers travelling from Liverpool towards Manchester Airport face late-night changes from Monday 24 August through to Thursday 27 August while engineering work affects TransPennine Express services.
The biggest change for airport travellers concerns the 23:19 service from Liverpool Lime Street to Manchester Airport. TransPennine Express says the train will not call at Liverpool South Parkway, Warrington Central, Birchwood, Irlam or Urmston during the affected period. A replacement bus will operate from Liverpool Lime Street to Manchester Airport.
The 22:20 Liverpool Lime Street to Sheffield service is also amended and will not call at Manchester Piccadilly. The changes are concentrated around late-night services, making them particularly important for passengers travelling after evening flights or heading to the airport for early departures.
TransPennine Express has warned that rail replacement vehicles may be busier than normal and is advising customers to allow extra time. Airport passengers should check the latest journey information before setting off, especially where a missed connection could affect a flight.
Passengers who would rather arrange a pre-booked road journey can also use Manpool Transfers for Manchester Airport and long-distance transfers across the UK.
The engineering work is scheduled to continue overnight until Thursday 27 August, so travellers using the Liverpool-Manchester corridor should check their exact service rather than assume the normal stopping pattern will operate.
