Aer Lingus has confirmed that all of its flights from Manchester Airport, including its transatlantic routes, will soon operate exclusively from Terminal 2.
The move is part of Manchester Airport’s ongoing £1.3 billion transformation programme, which is aimed at modernising facilities, expanding capacity, and creating a smoother travel experience for passengers.
Improved Passenger Experience
The airline said the transition will streamline operations, making check-in, security, and boarding more efficient. Passengers travelling through Terminal 2 will benefit from:
- Modern self-service check-in kiosks
- Enhanced security and passport control facilities
- Improved WiFi connectivity
- A wider range of shops, dining outlets, and passenger lounges
An Aer Lingus spokesperson said the airline is committed to “making the customer journey as seamless as possible,” adding that the move will help ensure consistency across its services at Manchester.
Impact on Passengers
Aer Lingus currently operates both short-haul services to Dublin and long-haul flights to North America from Manchester. The consolidation into Terminal 2 means passengers will no longer have to navigate different terminals depending on their route.
Airport officials say the change will also improve connections for travellers flying via Dublin, where Aer Lingus offers US pre-clearance facilities.
