London Stansted Airport launching cashless payments for express set down

One of the big delays when dropping or picking up at the Airport is paying with cash, so we assume they are heading down the cashless route for a speedier drop-off. Plenty of drivers aren’t going to be happy with this, as many still prefer to deal with cash. What a surprise is that most Airports in 2024 are going down the route of an ANPR system, so there will be no barriers at all like Heathrow Airport.

* We’re excited to announce that starting November 8th we’ll begin to a six-month program to upgrade our car park technology, including a transition to a completely cashless system for Express Set Down.

With our new cashless Express Set Down system. we’re making things super easy for you. No more dealing with physical cash or searching for change at the barrier. You can simply use your credit or debit card or even your mobile phone to pay. Just a quick tap, scan, or wipe, and you’re good to go!*

So far this is only for Express Set Down.

Up to 15 mins: £7

Over 15 mins: £25

Payment can be made via card, vehicles must not be left unattended. Unattended vehicles may be towed and incur a towing fee.
