Police in Bournemouth are continuing their investigation into the alleged racial abuse and assault of a taxi driver, after a woman came forward to assist with enquiries.
The incident was reported to have taken place at around 11:05pm on Sunday, 24 August 2025, in the Exeter Road area of Bournemouth town centre.
According to Dorset Police, two women travelling in the taxi allegedly became racially abusive towards the driver before physically assaulting him. Reports suggest the victim was grabbed, scratched and hit while still operating the vehicle. Damage was also caused to the taxi during the altercation.
Following a public appeal for information and the release of an image, a woman has now contacted the police and is cooperating fully with officers.
At this stage, no arrests have been made and investigations remain ongoing.

Dorset Police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or may have dashcam or mobile footage from the Exeter Road area at the time to come forward.
