Wolverhampton’s Taxi Compliance Team were out on late patrol over the weekend, focusing on Wolverhampton Train Station and surrounding areas. The proactive night operation aimed to ensure licensed taxis and private hire vehicles (PHVs) were operating safely and in line with licensing regulations.
According to a post shared by WV Protect on X (formerly Twitter), officers also made visits to the Sandwell area as part of the operation. The patrols form part of ongoing efforts by the City of Wolverhampton Council to monitor licensed vehicles and take action against any non-compliance.
The team regularly conducts late-night checks, often working alongside police and neighbouring local authorities to identify unlicensed or unsafe vehicles, expired badges, or drivers operating outside licensing conditions.
