Uber Teens latest feature launching in the UK for 13 to 17 year olds

It’s crazy that last week, Driver Matty, Mick, and Mark were all talking about picking under-18s up while driving for Uber, and this week, Uber Teens have launched. What a mad coincidence!

What is Uber Teens and is it another way for Uber drivers to earn more money, well yes it is another preference you can turn off and on in the Uber Driver App, Uber Teens is an Uber app for 13 to 17 year-olds and is supervised by a parent or guardian.

Below is directly from Uber themselves:

Teen accounts are the only authorized way for teens aged 13-17 to use the Uber platform with consent from their legal guardians. Guardians who add a teen account to their Family profile will be notified every time their teen requests a ride—and they’ll get real-time alerts plus live trip tracking so they can follow their teen’s ride in the app, from pickup to drop off.

For example, to help you easily identify teen rides, your offer card may read “UberX • Teen.” If you see this, it means the trip request is from an official teen account holder—so there should be no surprises at pickup.

Currently, it is only available in certain UK cities and to certain drivers.
