Uber Expands Childcare Benefits for UK Drivers with Bubble Partnership

Uber has announced the nationwide rollout of its childcare benefit in partnership with Bubble, following a successful pilot scheme last year. The initiative, which grants UK Uber drivers 20 hours of free childcare, aims to support drivers in managing work and family commitments.

Helping Drivers Stay on the Road

Recognising the challenges that unexpected childcare needs can bring—such as nursery closures, a child falling ill, or simply the need for a well-earned break—Uber’s new benefit provides drivers with access to flexible, professional childcare.

Bubble, the UK’s leading back-up care app, connects parents with trusted sitters and nannies who can provide care at short notice. The service includes in-home childcare as well as access to holiday clubs for children aged 4–11 years.

Uber driver Alan, who tested the scheme during the pilot phase, praised the initiative, saying:

“Both my wife and I are Uber drivers and have kids, so having those 20 hours each to use was fantastic for us.”

What’s Included?

With the 20 free hours, Uber drivers can access:

  • In-home Childcare – Flexible, trusted childcare with vetted sitters and nannies.
  • Holiday Clubs – Engaging activities for children during school breaks, provided by Bubble’s trusted partners.
  • No Additional Fees – All booking types, including repeat bookings and night nannies, are covered.

Additionally, drivers can access virtual events aimed at helping working parents balance professional and family life.

For those needing extra support, Bubble also offers pet care and in-home services—such as cleaning and tutoring—on a self-funded basis.

How to Sign Up

Drivers can sign up via a dedicated registration form, using their Uber-registered email address. Those already on the Bubble platform can contact the support team via live chat to activate the benefit. Once registered, the free childcare hours will be credited to their account.

Uber has confirmed that the benefit will be available on a first-come, first-served basis until January 6, 2026. Registration and usage will be monitored to ensure the perk is exclusively used by Uber drivers.

With this expansion, Uber aims to provide more flexibility for drivers, allowing them to work without childcare worries or simply enjoy some personal time.
