A Liverpool resident has reached out to DM News with shocking images of what they claim to be the dirtiest Wolverhampton private hire taxi they have ever been in.

The 2018 Toyota Auris, operating for a local company in Liverpool, appears to have not been cleaned in years, with grime, stains, and rubbish littering the vehicle’s interior. The passenger, who wishes to remain anonymous, described their experience as “absolutely disgusting”, stating that the seats were covered in dirt, the floor was layered with debris, and there was an unbearable odour throughout the cab.
Taxi Filth Sparks Outrage
The images sent to DM News show a thick build-up of dust, stains on the seats, and rubbish strewn across the back. The passenger claims the condition of the taxi was so bad that they felt uncomfortable sitting inside and were shocked that such a vehicle was still allowed to operate.
“I’ve been in some rough taxis before, but this was next level. It looked like it hadn’t been cleaned since it was bought in 2018,” they said.
Wolverhampton-Registered Taxis Under Scrutiny
This revelation has reignited concerns over the Wolverhampton private hire licensing system, which has faced criticism in the past for allowing drivers to operate in cities like Liverpool, Manchester, and Birmingham, often bypassing local licensing requirements.
Liverpool City Council and local taxi firms have previously raised concerns over the standards of some Wolverhampton-licensed vehicles, questioning whether they meet the same cleanliness and safety checks as those licensed locally.
What Happens Next?
It remains unclear whether the driver of this filthy Auris will face any consequences, but passengers are being urged to report unsanitary and unsafe taxis to both the local council and licensing authorities.
