Police tape off Banbury street after taxi crashes into house

Taxi Crashes Into House as Police Seal Off Oxfordshire Street

A residential street in Oxfordshire has been sealed off after a taxi ploughed into a house overnight.

The collision happened sometime between Sunday night (17 August) and the early hours of Monday morning (18 August) on Woodgreen Avenue, Banbury.

Police tape has cordoned off the stretch of road, with officers urging the public to avoid the area while investigations continue.

Images from the scene show a white taxi embedded into the front of a property, facing back towards the road.

Thames Valley Police confirmed they were called to the incident but have not yet released details on how the crash occurred or whether anyone was injured.

A spokesperson for the force said on Monday morning:

“We are currently on scene at an incident on Woodgreen Avenue, Banbury.
The section of Woodgreen Avenue southbound between Bretch Hill turn off and Broughton Road roundabout is closed.
Please avoid this area, and thank you for your cooperation.”

The force has been approached for further updates as enquiries into the crash continue.
