Solar & Wind Powered InstaVolt Superhub Powers Up in Winchester

Electric vehicle (EV) drivers in Hampshire are celebrating the launch of a brand-new InstaVolt Superhub, now fully operational in Winchester. The state-of-the-art facility marks a significant step forward in the region’s EV infrastructure, providing ultra-rapid charging for drivers on the go.

Located just off the M3 at a convenient retail and leisure park, the new superhub features 16 high-powered chargers, each capable of delivering up to 150kW. This allows most EVs to gain up to 100 miles of range in as little as 15 minutes, making it ideal for both local users and long-distance travellers.

The Winchester site is powered by 100% renewable energy, including on-site solar panels and a dedicated wind turbine — a first for InstaVolt’s expanding network. This sustainable approach not only slashes emissions but also reinforces the company’s commitment to environmentally responsible infrastructure.

Adrian Keen, CEO of InstaVolt, said:
“We’re thrilled to open our latest superhub in Winchester — a key location for drivers travelling between the south coast and London. As EV adoption continues to grow, we’re committed to making charging simple, fast, and accessible. The addition of on-site renewable energy generation is another step towards a cleaner transport future.”

All chargers support contactless payment, and the site is designed for ease of access, with 24/7 availability and nearby amenities including cafés, shops, and rest areas.

Local drivers have welcomed the addition, praising its convenience, green credentials, and contribution to making EV ownership more practical.

The Winchester hub joins a growing list of InstaVolt superhubs across the country, as the company works to support the UK’s transition to cleaner, greener transport.
