A private hire vehicle flipped onto its side and crashed down a flight of steps outside the DoubleTree by Hilton and Store Street Exchange Restaurant on Auburn Street, Manchester, on Monday, 27 October.
According to Manchester Evening News, the white Toyota reportedly swerved off the road after colliding with another vehicle. The car mounted the pavement before careering down a set of footsteps near the busy Piccadilly area.
Footage circulating online showed the vehicle lying on its side, heavily damaged, as police cordoned off the scene and recovery crews worked to remove it. Greater Manchester Police confirmed that the crash involved another vehicle and that emergency services, including the North West Ambulance Service (NWAS), attended.
A police spokesperson told MEN: “We were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving two vehicles on Auburn Street. One vehicle overturned and came to rest down a set of steps. Emergency services attended and recovery was arranged.”
