North Yorkshire Police have launched an investigation following reports of a racially motivated incident targeting a taxi driver in York city centre.
The alleged attack occurred on Saturday, 6 September, between 9:30pm and 9:40pm, outside the Tomahawk restaurant on Lendal.
A police spokesperson said:
“It is alleged that a male has punched a Black Prius taxi and given racial abuse to the driver.”
The force is now appealing for witnesses who may have seen the incident or have any information that could assist the investigation.
