ABC Taxis, a household name in Norwich since 1994, has officially rebranded as Veezu, marking a bold new era for the region’s biggest private hire operator.
This move comes after the Norwich-based company was acquired by Veezu in 2022 — the UK’s fastest-growing private hire technology platform, headquartered in Wales. With over 16,000 driver-partners nationwide, Veezu continues to reshape local transport by combining technology, scale and sustainability.
Since joining Veezu, the former ABC Taxis fleet has undergone a significant transformation. Over 75% of its 500 vehicles are now hybrid or electric, making it one of the greenest operators in the East of England. This aligns with broader efforts across the country to reduce vehicle emissions and improve urban air quality.
Chris Ford, Regional Operations Director for Veezu, said:
“ABC Taxis has been central to Norwich and the wider Norfolk transport network for over three decades. This has continued under Veezu and as we rebrand the business today, we will continue to deliver the highest levels of service by combining local experience with national capabilities.”
He added that the rebrand reflects a long-term vision to enhance passenger experience through investment in service, greener vehicles, and innovative technology.
Veezu also plans to retain its strong community ties. Its partnership with Nelson’s Journey, a Norfolk charity supporting bereaved children, will continue as part of its local engagement strategy.
Despite the name change, local passengers can expect the same familiar drivers and customer service — now with upgraded booking tools, app-based tracking, and access to a wider network of vehicles.
The rebrand symbolises a blend of trusted local service with the backing of a national tech-driven brand — setting the stage for a more sustainable and connected future in UK private hire transport.
