Manchester Airport has announced the introduction of a new barrierless system on its forecourts, designed to improve efficiency for drivers and passengers. The change aims to enhance the overall experience by eliminating the need to stop at a barrier when dropping off passengers.

Under the new system, vehicles will be able to drive straight through, with charges payable remotely. Taxi drivers have the option to pre-register for an account to streamline payments or can choose to pay within 48 hours as a guest. This initiative is expected to reduce waiting times, improve traffic flow, and make the drop-off process more seamless.
Existing concession scheme users will automatically receive their reduced rate for each forecourt transaction. Additionally, businesses with multiple fleet vehicles (more than two) can register a business account for easier management of their vehicles.
Manchester Airport encourages users to pre-register their accounts now at pay.manchesterairport.co.uk. Further communications will be sent to scheme users before the official launch, confirming the go-live dates of the barrierless system.
This development is part of Manchester Airport’s continued efforts to enhance convenience and efficiency for passengers and transport providers alike.
