A man is set to appear in court after allegedly jumping on a taxi and assaulting its driver during an incident at Watford Junction railway station earlier this year.
Alleged Attack at Station
The incident took place on 16 February at Watford Junction, where 31-year-old Jordan Bull is accused of causing damage to a taxi before attacking the driver.
Court documents state that Bull allegedly jumped onto the bonnet of the taxi, leaving a small dent and a cracked windscreen. The damage was estimated to cost around £500.
He is also accused of assaulting the taxi’s owner “by beating him” during the altercation.
Court Proceedings
Bull, who has addresses in both Watford and Reading, appeared before St Albans Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 27 August.
He has been granted unconditional bail and is due to return to court on 18 September, when he is expected to enter a plea.
Industry Impact
Taxi drivers across the UK continue to raise concerns about assaults and damage to their vehicles while working. Incidents like this not only affect drivers’ safety but also add to repair costs and lost income while vehicles are off the road.
