Liverpool’s own Driver Matty, known for his candid videos about life behind the wheel as an Uber driver, has put his driving skills to the test — literally — in a new YouTube video filmed with his long-time friend and driving instructor, Mick.
In the video, titled “Driver Matty Does a Mock Driving Test – Can a Taxi Driver Still Pass?”, the pair hit the streets of Liverpool to find out whether years of real-world taxi experience have helped or hindered Matty’s ability to meet DVSA test standards.
The test was carried out under authentic conditions, with Mick sitting in the passenger seat acting as examiner while cameras captured both in-car reactions and outside shots of the vehicle navigating typical city routes.

Despite his experience, Matty admits to feeling the nerves: “It’s mad really — I’ve done thousands of passenger trips, but when you know you’re being marked, it hits different!”
