ReFuels has reported an 8% year-on-year increase in Bio-CNG volumes dispensed through its CNG Fuels refuelling network during the first quarter of its 2027 financial year.
The company’s first-quarter interim update was released on 4 September 2026 and covered April to June 2026. ReFuels said the number of vehicles using the network increased by 11% to more than 2,250.
CNG Fuels reported first-quarter EBITDA of £4.9 million, more than three times the level recorded in the prior-year period. ReFuels retained its fiscal-2027 adjusted EBITDA guidance of £16 million to £20 million.
The company attributed part of the improved financial performance to station profitability and Renewable Transport Fuel Certificate margins. ReFuels describes itself as a renewable-biomethane supplier supporting heavy-goods vehicle decarbonisation, while CNG Fuels is its downstream refuelling-network business.
Network expansion is continuing, according to the update. Magor is scheduled to open in October as the network’s 17th station. ReFuels also said that new sites at Swindon and Carlisle are under construction.

The company expects those additions to take network refuelling capacity above 14,000 HGVs per day. This is a projected capacity figure associated with the planned network expansion, not a statement of current daily fuel use or the number of vehicles currently using the sites.
ReFuels expects more than 900 additional CNG trucks to be on UK roads over the following 12 to 18 months. It also said that its largest customers provide visibility towards more than 8,000 CNG HGVs operating in the UK by the end of 2030.
The projected 900 trucks have not been described as already being in service. Similarly, the 8,000-vehicle figure is a customer-based company projection rather than an official count of all gas-powered HGVs operating in the UK.
The update combines reported first-quarter financial and operating growth with expectations for further fleet and infrastructure expansion. ReFuels maintained its full-year adjusted EBITDA guidance while setting out the planned opening of Magor, construction at Swindon and Carlisle, and the expected increase in network capacity.
