Black Cab Unite has begun promoting a commission-free booking network for licensed black-cab drivers, with passenger bookings intended to be made through WhatsApp and QR tools at venues or taxi ranks.
The service is being presented as an early-stage rollout rather than a fully established nationwide network. Black Cab Unite is inviting drivers to register and is also offering passenger early-access registration.
Taxi and private hire operators can find booking and dispatch tools from DM Taxi Assistant.
Its website currently lists Coventry and London as coverage locations. Birmingham and Manchester are identified as forthcoming locations.
The model allows passengers to book through WhatsApp and to use QR codes at participating venues or ranks. Black Cab Unite is positioning the network around licensed black cabs and a commission-free model for drivers.
The available information does not confirm nationwide availability or the number of venue partnerships in operation as the rollout continues.
