A new £23 million eastern entrance at Bristol Temple Meads is due to open at 4pm on Monday 7 September, Network Rail has announced.
The entrance will provide direct access between the station and the University of Bristol’s Temple Quarter Enterprise Campus. Network Rail said it is also intended to improve connections for St Philip’s Marsh, as well as communities and businesses to the east of Bristol city centre.
The project includes an extension to the subway beneath platforms 13 and 15.

Network Rail projects that the entrance will serve around 2.5 million passengers each year by 2030. It is the first of three planned new entrances at Bristol Temple Meads.
The West of England Mayoral Combined Authority was awarded £94.7 million in government funding to support the three station entrances.
Changes to local bus access are also scheduled from Tuesday 8 September. Bristol bus service 8 is due to begin serving a new stop on Cattle Market Road beside the eastern entrance, ending its use of Station Approach.
