New Mazda CX-6e Electric SUV Gets £42,990 UK Price and 300-Mile Range

Mazda has confirmed UK pricing and specification for its new CX-6e electric SUV, with prices starting from £42,990 when the model arrives in Britain later this year.

The CX-6e will become the latest addition to Mazda’s expanding battery-electric range and will be offered in two highly specified versions for UK buyers.

The entry-level Takumi will cost £42,990, while the flagship Takumi Plus has been priced at £45,350.

Both versions use the same 78kWh lithium iron phosphate battery and a rear-mounted electric motor producing 258PS and 290Nm of torque.

Mazda quotes a WLTP driving range of up to 300 miles for the CX-6e.

The rear-wheel-drive SUV can accelerate from 0-62mph in 7.9 seconds and has a top speed of 115mph.

Rapid charging is one of the more competitive elements of the specification.

The CX-6e supports DC charging at up to 200kW, allowing the battery to be charged from 10% to 80% in approximately 24 minutes under suitable conditions.

An 11kW three-phase AC onboard charger is also included for home and destination charging.

The Takumi comes with 19-inch alloy wheels as standard, although buyers can upgrade to 21-inch wheels for an additional £1,000.

Takumi Plus models receive the larger 21-inch wheels as standard.

The flagship specification also adds digital rear-view and side cameras, additional ambient interior lighting, heated outer rear seats and ventilated rear seat bases.

Technology features prominently inside both versions of the CX-6e.

A 26.45-inch central touchscreen dominates the dashboard and uses a customisable split-screen layout designed to allow different information to be displayed simultaneously.

A large head-up display can project navigation information into the driver’s field of view, while gesture controls allow selected functions to be operated without touching the main screen.

Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also fitted as standard.

The CX-6e was originally unveiled at the Brussels Motor Show in January, but today’s announcement confirms the important UK pricing and equipment details ahead of its arrival in British dealerships.

The new model joins the Mazda6e as part of Mazda’s latest push into the UK electric-car market.

While the two vehicles use similar electric technology, the CX-6e adopts the SUV body style that now accounts for a significant proportion of new-car sales.

Its combination of a 300-mile headline range, 200kW rapid charging and a starting price just below £43,000 puts it into direct competition with several established family electric SUVs.

The specification could also make the CX-6e relevant to higher-mileage company-car and private hire users considering an electric SUV, although real-world range, charging performance, insurance and ownership costs will ultimately determine its suitability for intensive commercial use.

Mazda says the first UK examples are due to arrive later in 2026.
