BYD Ti 7 arrives in the UK: seven-seat plug-in hybrid SUV starts at £47,995

BYD has confirmed UK pricing and specification for the Ti 7, its first seven-seat SUV to go on sale in Britain. Prices start from £47,995, and the model is also the first in BYD’s UK line-up to use the brand’s DM-p “Dual Mode Performance” plug-in hybrid powertrain.

Under the bonnet, the Ti 7 pairs a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with three electric motors, one driving the front axle and another powering the rear. Combined, the setup produces 408PS, enough to send the big SUV from 0-62mph in just 4.8 seconds, with a top speed of 118mph. That’s a serious turn of pace for a family-sized seven-seater.

The petrol engine mostly acts as a generator, topping up the 35.6kWh Blade Battery so the Ti 7 can be driven on electric power alone for up to 74 miles before the combustion engine needs to chip in. For most school runs and commutes, that means many owners could get by on electric power day-to-day, while still having the petrol engine on hand for longer trips.

It’s also a genuinely competitive price. According to Auto Express, the Ti 7 undercuts a comparable Land Rover Defender by around £25,000, while still offering three rows of seats and plug-in hybrid efficiency.

The Ti 7 is available to order now, with a £500 deposit that BYD UK will match. First cars are expected to land in showrooms in November, with customer deliveries following in January 2027.
