We are just launching our new blog… DM News and I had to do a story about this. A few weeks back a picture of an Uber driver crashing into Binton Bridge, Welford got stuck. This picture was shared like crazy across all the social media and WhatsApp groups.
Warwickshire County Council said, “The collision has caused significant structural damage to the parapet and cutwater, which form part of the bridge’s support structure.”
As of 13 August 2024 the Uber car was dislodged and removed from the bridge, the bridge was closed and engineers were called in to assess the damage and plan the structural repair if required. As far as we are aware, the bridge is open to cyclists and pedestrians and won’t open to vehicles until further notice.
Until this day we don’t know what ever happened to cause the Uber driver to crash and get stuck like he did.
