A fundraising campaign has been launched on GoFundMe to support Cosimo — known to many across Liverpool as Cos or Cosy — following a serious medical emergency.
Cosimo is described on the fundraiser page as currently being in hospital and critically unwell. Well known within the Liverpool taxi trade and by many drivers, news of his condition has prompted friends, colleagues and members of the wider community to rally around his family.

The page, titled “Support for Cosimo and his family”, was set up by Roy Medlam on behalf of Helen Odierni. It explains that the aim of the fundraiser is to ease the immediate financial pressures facing the family during this extremely difficult time.
The campaign has a target of £4,000 and donations are intended to help with:
- Emergency travel costs so Sofi can return home to be with Cosimo
- Travel expenses and time off work for family members staying by his bedside
- Immediate living expenses while the family focuses on his care
- Any unexpected costs that may arise during this period
The organiser states that the funds will go directly to the family to ensure they receive practical support when they need it most.
Further details, updates, and donations can be found on the official fundraiser page:

DM News Commentary
In the taxi trade, drivers become more than just drivers. They become familiar faces, trusted voices and part of the daily routine for so many people. When someone well known in the Liverpool taxi community falls seriously ill, it hits close to home for colleagues and customers alike.
The response so far shows the strength of community within the trade and beyond. At times like this, financial support cannot fix everything — but it can relieve some of the pressure so families can focus on what truly matters.
We wish Cosimo and his family strength during this incredibly difficult period.
