Driver Matty has taken ownership of a 2019 Kia e-Niro that has clocked up an astonishing over 333,000 miles — and it’s raising a serious question: could this be the highest-mileage Kia electric car currently on UK roads?
The vehicle was previously owned by a taxi driver in the West Midlands and has clearly lived a hardworking life. Yet, as shown in Driver Matty’s recent YouTube review, the car is still in remarkably good condition considering both its age and mileage.
Still on the Original Battery and Motor
Perhaps the most impressive part of this story is that the car is reportedly still running on its original battery and electric motor.
For an electric vehicle to surpass 333,000 miles without a battery or motor replacement is no small achievement. While there are numerous high-mileage EV examples online — particularly from manufacturers like Tesla — this example demonstrates that Kia’s electric platform is proving just as durable in real-world taxi use.
Current Issues Reported
So far, only minor issues have been identified:
- Reversing camera not working
- A noticeable whining or rattling noise under acceleration
Given the mileage, a noisy motor isn’t entirely unexpected. However, the vehicle remains fully operational and continues to be driven daily.
Condition vs Mileage
One of the biggest surprises from the review is just how well the car presents. For a vehicle that has covered over 333k miles, the interior and exterior condition appear far better than many would expect.
This kind of mileage would normally be associated with significant wear and tear, yet the e-Niro still looks capable of carrying on for many more miles.
Is It the UK Record?
At the time of writing, there is no official public database confirming whether this is the highest-mileage Kia EV in the UK. However, 333,000 miles places it firmly in rare territory for electric vehicles — especially outside of Tesla examples that are more commonly documented online.
